When the world is chaotic outside of your own chaos, it can be rather difficult to focus easily. Focus has been a struggle of mine as of late, and I feel it is just getting slightly worse with the continuance of mayhem all around. It’s easy to get easily distracted in this day and age, and even easier if your plate is full with a bustling schedule.
In a world full of distractions, creating a moment of stillness helps us return to clarity. This simple focus ritual is designed to clear mental clutter, sharpen intention, and center your energy so you can move forward with purpose.
Here is a small guide of a perfect easy ritual to help expand your focus:
You’ll need:
- A quiet space
- A small yellow candle; yellow corresponds with focus, if you don’t have a yellow candle, any color of your liking will do.
- A small bowl of water or a crystal if you have one (Tiger’s eye and clear quartz are great choices!)
- A notebook or piece of paper
Steps:
- Settle & Ground (2 minutes)
- Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take 3–5 deep breaths.
- Imagine roots growing from your feet into the Earth, anchoring you.
- Light & Intention (2 minutes)
- Light the candle and say aloud or in your mind:
“I focus my mind, calm my heart, and open to clarity and purpose.”
- Light the candle and say aloud or in your mind:
- Reflection & Release (5 minutes)
- Take your notebook and write down one thing you want to focus on tomorrow.
- Write any distractions, worries, or cluttered thoughts on a separate section or paper to symbolically release them.
- Close & Center (1–2 minutes)
- Dip your fingers in water or hold your crystal and visualize the clarity and calm energy flowing through you.
- Take 3 more deep breaths, blow out the candle, and carry the focus with you.
If you feel the need, you can carry the crystal that assisted you in this ritual with you for persistent clarity and to strengthen your focus.
As the candlelight fades and your intentions are set, carry this sense of clarity with you. Trust that your focus will guide each step forward, keeping your path steady and your spirit centered.
Blessed be!
